What to Expect your first appointment
Initial exam
At your initial exam, you will meet Dr. Moran or Dr. White and our patient care team. This appointment allows time for our doctors to do an initial examination and to learn more about your goals for treatment.
Once the doctor has completed her initial examination, she will determine if you’re a good candidate for treatment. If so, we will need diagnostic records to complete a comprehensive treatment plan.
We have time built into the initial exam for diagnostic records and the total time with diagnostic records is typically 1 hour.
Diagnostic records
The process of collecting orthodontic records is an essential step in providing you with the highest level of care and achieving the best possible treatment outcome. Necessary records vary from patient to patient and may include: 3D x-rays, physical or digital molds of the teeth, and photographs. Different doctors take different x-rays for their unique diagnostic purposes, but we will contact your dental professionals and make use of any existing, current x-rays whenever possible. We will also share the records we take with your dental professionals, maximizing your value.
Pre-treatment consultation
After your initial exam, you will be scheduled for an in-person or virtual pre-treatment consultation.
We separate the exam and consultation into two parts because our doctors believe it is essential to take the time to study your information and complete a comprehensive and individualized plan to ensure your teeth and joints are in their healthiest position.
During this meeting, Dr. Moran or Dr. White and our Treatment Coordinator will review all our findings, recommendations, and cost estimates.
Our goal is for you to leave this consultation with a clear understanding of your treatment plan. We believe education is key to making an informed and confident decision moving forward.
You will leave your consultation with a full copy of the doctor’s findings, recommendations, x-rays, and your estimates.
If you would like to start treatment the same day as your consult just let us know and we can plan accordingly.
Our Policies
Fees & Payments:
We believe orthodontics is an important health service. That’s why we make every effort to keep braces affordable, while maintaining the highest level of professional care.
Being sensitive to the fact that different people have different needs in fulfilling their financial obligations, we are very creative in providing numerous payment options. We can arrange a schedule of interest-free payments over a period of months that fits with your budget.
Most of our patients pay monthly via automatic draw from their bank checking account. Our payment options are flexible and customized to suit your needs. We have a system that lets you choose the balance of down payment, monthly payments, and repayment term that works best for you.
Scheduling:
On average, patients in active treatment are seen approximately every 8 to 10 weeks. However, in our office, treatment is customized for each patient so appointment intervals may vary according to the situation. New patient appointments are scheduled as soon as possible. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please give us a minimum of 24 hours notice. We schedule appointments as early as 7:15AM and as late as 4:45PM.
We reserve a limited amount of time each day for patients needing emergency treatment. Please try to call us as early in the day as possible to schedule an emergency appointment. If you have an emergency after hours and on weekends, call our office and you will be given an emergency contact number.
Many of our patients have insurance. We are happy to submit your insurance claims and help you to get the best reimbursement possible from your insurance carrier.
