Your TMJ Treatment Options

LightForce® braces or Angel Aligners alone may be enough to achieve the necessary bite and jaw alignment to eliminate TMJ pain and dysfunction in some patients. However, for others, two stages of treatment could be needed. Often, in these cases, you’ll wear a clear, stabilization splint full-time for a specified period. The custom oral appliance encourages the joints and muscles to heal themselves.

Once you’ve completed TMJ splint therapy, you’ll be ready for full orthodontic treatment with LightForce custom braces or Angel Aligners. While Dr. Moran and Dr. White are known for helping adult and teen patients with complex cases who are suffering from TMJ problems, they also offer preventative orthodontics for kids. For growing patients with certain emerging problems, research indicates TMJ splint therapy can be beneficial.

State-of-the-Art Diagnostics and In-Depth Treatment Planning

What is TMJ?

TMJ is an acronym for the temporomandibular joint and refers to the joint itself. Pain or problems in the TMJ, jaw, or related structures are known as TMJ dysfunction or a temporomandibular disorder (TMD).
